NIZUC RESORT & SPA

Set on nearly 30 acres of protected mangroves on the Yucatán Peninsula where the Mayans lived in 1800 BC, the Nizuc Resort & Spa is a portal to another world, and an ancient civilization brought to life along the southern coast of Cancún.

Of the 274 rooms at the Nizuc Resort & Spa, you’d be hard-pressed to find one that isn't picture-perfect. There are the dreamy Caribbean vistas, of course, that you’re privy to every time you look out the window, and inside, the decor of natural materials imagined by interior designer Alejandro Escudero is just as captivating. Local stone, mangrove and ziricote woods and an earthy colour palette that establishes a tone of relaxed elegance. The rooms also have Mayan hieroglyphics that appear throughout, imbuing them with a sense of history. This is Mexico seen through a different lens, and adding to this dreamy escape is the stellar lineup of restaurants at the hotel.

Roxy Robinson The Head Of Luxury Travel at Roxstar by Centred and Co-Owner at Tabula Rasa Retreats said: "Nizuc Resort & Spa is so close to the airport so convenient. Breathtakingly beautiful spaces, amazing for couples, friends, corporates, and I absolutely loved the margarita cocktail class.

The management staff is world-class and everyone that works at Nizuc looked like they genuinely love their jobs, and are very happy to work for this amazing Resort."

There is the Mexican-inspired cuisine of Ramona, served in a fine-dining setting overlooking the beach, and the more casual Cafe De La Playa. There is also a Peruvian lunch spot Ni and an Italian dining room Terra Nostra while the menu at Indochine is all about the exotic flavors of the Far East. Another highlight of the hotel is the ESPA spa, a Mayan-inspired temple of relaxation set against a breezy Caribbean backdrop and it’s an experience that borders on the spiritual.

NIZUC RESORT OFFERS THE ULTIMATE PRIVATE ESCAPE

The seclusion of the villas, nestled in acres of mangroves. The designs of architect Alejandro Escudero with the Mayan hieroglyphics in the rooms. The three colossal infinity pools and two beaches that guests are privy.

WELLNESS @ NIZUC SPA

The palatial Nizuc Spa by ESPA pays tribute to Cancun’s Mayan past with both its design and treatments. Burnished golden accents glow in warm, low light. Curtains of water pour into tubs and pools from curved silver fixtures that resemble waves. Candles and fire feature flicker against stone-chinked walls reminiscent of Mayan temples.

You may choose to leave your spa room's wood levered doors open to the sea to allow in soft natural light or have them closed to fully focus on the treatments. With wood furniture, plush Egyptian cotton towels and linens, stone walls and metal bowls used for oil treatments, rooms all have an organic, ancient-yet-stylish feel that takes full advantage of their Caribbean views and gentle ocean breezes.

Their new in-room amenities by ESPA contain unique combinations of plant extracts, marine actives and essential oils to create the most effective, natural products. The ingredients have been used for thousands of years for medical, cosmetic and dietary purposes, offering therapeutic benefits for both the mind and body.

ESPA Biochemists’ carefully select and distill the highest quality ingredients from nature, using them at their optimal levels to create products that work in harmony for healthy skin.

Every product is expertly crafted to deliver a sensory experience with distinct aromatherapy blends, luxurious textures and sensory mood-enhancing aromatics to protect the health and beauty of your skin.

Our rooms at NIZUC will now feature ESPA shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand lotion and cleansing bar all infused with a luxurious blend of pure essential oils including Bergamot and Jasmine, to leave skin rejuvenated and delicately fragranced.

Aroma Focus: Bergamot and Jasmine

Bergamot

Produced in the northern Italian town of Bergamo, Bergamot trees have a unique citrus aroma. Bergamot essential oil is extracted from the rinds of the citrus fruit and has many healing properties.

Known for its refreshing, uplifting and nurturing properties, Bergamot is also relatively relaxing and deeply cleansing. While certain grades of Bergamot can be phototoxic or reactive to UVA/UV light, ESPA products use a select grade of Bergamot Oil that does not contain the reactive components making it safe and ideal for use on the body.

Jasmine

Cultivated in Morocco, Egypt and India, Jasmine is a luxurious and precious essential oil derived from the white flowers of the jasmine plant. Often very expensive to produce due to the delicate and timely extraction process during which flowers are gathered at night when the fragrance is most powerful.
